Hello everyone! My name is Luna and I have been a Kratom addict for about 3 1/2 years now. I began my journey with opiates and opioids when I was 17 and began drinking opium tea on a daily basis, and eventually multiple times a day. There was one time during 2017 that I ran out of opium and a friend suggested I use Kratom as a substitute. Since that, I used opium and Kratom on a daily basis along with black pepper to enhance the effects. This past summer of 2020 I have finally overcome my opium addiction and have not had opium since June (it is now November). Unfortunately, I am still on Kratom although I am working towards being free of it by the end of the year. Tapering has worked well for me so far, it worked with the opium, so I know it’s only a matter of time before I am Kratom free. I want to be able to get on airplanes again, to go to public places and not have to worry about finding a bathroom to shovel the folded up contents of my Kratom paper into my mouth as quickly as possible. I want to enjoy life without worrying whether or not I’ve passed the 3 hour mark that signifies its time to take Kratom again. Thank you to everyone on here for giving me hope and understanding what I’m going through, it means a lot! For anyone out there reading this who was looking for a sign from the universe to start tapering, consider this your sign. 🙂

PS: How are you? I am from France 🙂 very good forum 🙂 mixx
Hope everything is going well! I’m going to be starting my journey soon
Kratom is a wonderful plant with many medicinal uses. People have been using Kratom for thousands of years for increased energy and reduced pain. In the Western World, Kratom is somewhat of a new kid on the block. People are using it to curb their opiate withdrawals and escape heroin addiction. Others are using it to kick coffee habits. And some are just using Kratom recreationally.
There is a lot of information on the internet about Kratom. In my opinion, most of it is biased. Why is this? It’s because most of the information you can find with a quick Google search is published by companies that are selling Kratom. It’s in their best interest to promote Kratom and talk about how great it is while neglecting the negative side effects and potential for addiction.
