Well I’ll start by saying I’m 38. I had an opiate addiction in my early 20’s. I was hooked for a couple years and weaned off with methadone and haven’t used since. I write that just so it’s very clear I know the agony of an opiate withdrawal. Also when I was younger and a lot dumber my dr. put me on Xanax for panic attacks. I wasn’t fully aware off the addiction to this drug so after a few years I was clearly pissed for making such a poor decision and at my dr. For knowingly doing this. For anyone who is unaware Benzodiazepines are much harder to kick than opiates by far but everyone is different. Fast forward to today and I am still on benzo’s. Tried diff. Different tapering methods but no luck. So I’m always looking for something to use to get off this crap. I then heard about Kratom. I did very loose research on it but the ones I saw on YouTube etc. were people getting off opiates and saying there are no withdrawal symptoms at all. So then I thought I could maybe use Kratom to help me come off my Benzo problem. I then began the process and enjoyed Kratom very much being an ex opiate user. After a few monti knew what I just got myself into and went on to peak at over 30 grams a day split 3 times. Then I stumbled upon KickKratom. I saw the taper and was perfect because I was basically doing the full 30 gram taper which made it very easy for me. I can fully tell you this method does indeed work. I’m currently at 2g, 1 1/2g, 1g. and I’m gonna make it no problem. No lie, it’s tough sometimes but not nearly as bad as wanting to quit. But I can tell you before this tapering method I experienced horrible withdrawal symptoms from Kratom. Just as bad as the opiates were in my opinion. People should be warned of this. I do understand some people can do it responsibly but a lot of us out there can’t. That being said I’m a husband and father with a good career and I couldn’t add anything else on my plate. So I say thank you to Kickkrstom.com for helping me with this horrible problem. I sincerely appreciate what u did for the people!
May 3, 2019 at 12:15 pm #956What is your benzo dose? I have successfully tapered off benzo’s and I’m now tackling Kratom. Have you noticed bad withdrawals on the Taper? I’m doing it fairly aggressively trying to go from 15g a day to 0g in about 3 weeks.
May 3, 2019 at 2:37 pm #960Wow BP! That is awesome that you managed to taper down. It’s simple once you get it and the tricky part is avoiding the want to get high and take more.
Cheers to you for sticking with it and thank you for sharing. It’s little stories like this that can give others hope.
Now you can probably do the same thing with benzos, though this is very dangerous and should be done with the help of a DR. It’s all the same though. Reduce extremely slowly until you aren’t taking it anymore.
Great job. So proud of you and happy for you and your family.
May 3, 2019 at 10:27 pm #964Great BP. I agree that benzos give more difficulty in eliminating than Kratom, especially if you use them for sleep. I also agree with Jess that you should seek medical help in reducing. Lacking that, I know several people who went to zero, by reducing just 1/4 of one pill per day. They kept it at that level for at least a week before they reduce by another 1/4 pill. Of course, it all goes to your original dosage as you know.
With benzos, learning and using self-hypnosis would help immensely because it reduces anxieties and can even induce sleep if done correctly. It would help with the process of reduction as well as keeping your head clear. You can release negative emotions with self-hypnosis.
Another great thing is EFT for any kind of addiction release. You can learn it easily enough and if interested, just email me and I’ll forward you a five-page document that explains the process in detail. Refer to this note, please, in the subject box. bill@englehypnotherapy.com Best of luck in your issue and your career.
