Kick Kratom › Forums › Introductions › About to start my taper
Hello! I’ve been taking kratom for about 2 years, about 1 1/2 tsp every 3-4 hours. I start at 8am and stop at 4-5pm. I’ve tried quitting once before and only got to day 3 and started back up again, the withdrawals were shit. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant. Please don’t judge too harshly, I hate myself everyday for doing what I’m doing and I have tremendous guilt. I’m starting my taper tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has some remedies I can use while pregnant that will help this be as painless as possible. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and I hope to hear from you soon.
Hey there,
Kudos for deciding enough is enough. If you continue to struggle I recommend talking to Bill Engle of Engle Hypnotherapy. He has helped a lot of people quit all sorts of things. A lot of folks are able to quit smoking cigarettes after one session even if they’ve been smoking for 20 years.
Even if a session makes it a little easier to quit the Kratom, I think it is worth looking into.

Kratom is a wonderful plant with many medicinal uses. People have been using Kratom for thousands of years for increased energy and reduced pain. In the Western World, Kratom is somewhat of a new kid on the block. People are using it to curb their opiate withdrawals and escape heroin addiction. Others are using it to kick coffee habits. And some are just using Kratom recreationally.
There is a lot of information on the internet about Kratom. In my opinion, most of it is biased. Why is this? It’s because most of the information you can find with a quick Google search is published by companies that are selling Kratom. It’s in their best interest to promote Kratom and talk about how great it is while neglecting the negative side effects and potential for addiction.
