Kick Kratom › Forums › Progress Threads › 2 Weeks into taper
I was starting to notice withdrawal symptoms in between doses so I decided to taper off and stop for a while.
I use Kratom to manage my chronic depression so it’s been a case of tapering off whilst finding other things to boost my mood, it’s not always easy and everytime I drop the dose it is difficult. However I am trying to see it as a challenge and being quite strict with myself in not stepping back up.
So far so good, I have gone from 4g 4x a day to 3g 3x a day and as of today I am at 2.4g 3x a day.
On 2.4g I am not really getting much of a boost from the Kratom but I am going to stick with it, at least there are none of the horrible withdrawal symptoms some people seem to experience. I just feel quite tired and demotivated.
I strongly recommend 5HTP, L-theanine and black seed oil as a supplement combination, I’ve also found ashwaghanda to provide some relief from anxiety. But please do your own research!
I’ll update early next week when I plan to go down to 2g 2x a day before I stop completely, this has been a slower taper than the guide suggests but I think it’s best to take as slowly as you need. Going away in a couple of weeks which is giving me a deadline to be clean.
All the best – Siegfried

Kratom is a wonderful plant with many medicinal uses. People have been using Kratom for thousands of years for increased energy and reduced pain. In the Western World, Kratom is somewhat of a new kid on the block. People are using it to curb their opiate withdrawals and escape heroin addiction. Others are using it to kick coffee habits. And some are just using Kratom recreationally.
There is a lot of information on the internet about Kratom. In my opinion, most of it is biased. Why is this? It’s because most of the information you can find with a quick Google search is published by companies that are selling Kratom. It’s in their best interest to promote Kratom and talk about how great it is while neglecting the negative side effects and potential for addiction.
